1st Annual Multi-Species Saltwater Tournament
(1/21/25 Update)

Summary

The Raleigh Saltwater Sport Fishing Club (RSWSC) will host a 10-month, multi-species inshore / nearshore tournament. Our goal is to promote saltwater fishing within NC and challenge participants to catch a variety of species found within our waters.

Fees

10-month tournament entry

$100 for RSWSC members: https://square.link/u/Wha6Hdbc

$200 for non-members (which includes a 1-year membership to the RSWSC club that allows you to participate in our meetings and group outings): https://square.link/u/kl6W3rwj

OR

Monthly tournament entry

$15 for RSWSC members: https://square.link/u/lCyRGaYj

$30 for non-members: https://square.link/u/7M6pLtVv

Note: Monthly entries are due by midnight the last day of the previous month. This allows us to calculate the total monthly payout at the beginning of each month and to prevent people from signing-up for the tournament AFTER they’ve caught a fish.

Payouts / Prizes

$100 Bass Pro Gift Card goes to biggest target species fish (by tail length) winner each month. In the event of a tie, the earliest submission is the winner. Monthly drawings for additional prizes will occur as well as the Angler of the Year, who has the greatest accumulation of points at the end of the tournament.

Rules

  1. All entries must be caught in North Carolina state waters on rod and reel. No commercial or net caught fish may be entered.

  1. Every species is worth a minimum of 10 points, regardless of the time of year you catch it. So if you catch a red drum in August, it’s worth 10 points. If you catch another one in September, the target month, it will be upgraded to 15 points (see below). Target species entries can be “upgraded” in size for consideration for the biggest fish prize, but additional points will not be awarded for upgrades unless that fish places in the monthly target species contest or wins the largest target species fish award at the end of the year.

  1. Each month has a target species. If you  catch the target species (any size) for the month, you get 15 points. Bonus points will be awarded to the first, second, and third place entries for the month.

         1st place - Additional 50 points

         2nd place - Additional 40 points

         3rd place  - Additional 30 points
